Pebble meditation! [Request]

Last Monday I was exploring a route for Friday. Foggy cold weather and thoughts that went all over my head. During my walks I come up with the blog. All questions from readers go through my mind. You can see in the photo that I am finding my way through a swamp. Everything that distracts is awkward. Perhaps dangerous.

Yes Yes. Next week a blog about not aiming and planning.

Now first on request the pebble meditation. I always have a small bag with four pebbles in it. I can only organize my thoughts when I go back seeking attention. The pebble meditation is a simple powerful exercise to continue with attention.

Four pebbles that represent flower, mountain, water and space. Finding the pebbles is an exercise in itself.

The meditation.

Put the four pebbles to your left to get your attention. That can be done on the ground, a tree trunk or a bench. It does not matter. As long as you get attention.

FLOWER

Now pick up one of the pebbles with two fingers and look at it: this is the FLOWER. Take the stone in the palm of your left hand and hold it above your right hand. You now start with the first meditation:

“I breathe in and see myself as a flower. I breathe out and feel fresh. ”

Do this three times. While you meditate like this, you restore the beauty in yourself and you become fresh.

When you have done three breaths, pick up the stone again with two fingers. You look at the stone and you smile at it. Then place this stone to your right.

A flower stands for freshness. The flower is in you because you can be fresh. Everyone has the opportunity to be fresh. If we have lost our freshness, we can find it again by breathing in and out consciously. A flower is fresh and bright. You are also a flower with a colorful interior. Every time we restore our beauty, we are beautiful.

MOUNTAIN

Now pick up a second pebble on the left. Look at it: this is the MOUNTAIN. Place the stone in your left hand and place it on your right. Now imagine yourself as a mountain.

“I breathe in and see myself as a mountain. I breathe out and feel strong. ”

When you have done three breaths, pick up the stone again with two fingers. You look at the stone and smile at it. Place this stone to your right.

A mountain stands for sturdiness and stability. There is a mountain in you, because when you do sitting meditation and walking meditation, you become solid and stable on the inside. Solidity and stability are very important if you want to be happy. If you know that you can be firm and stable and if you know how to walk and sit with attention, your firmness and stability will grow. That is the mountain in us.

WATER

Now pick up the third pebble on the left. Look at it: this is the still WATER in you. Place the stone in your left hand and place it on your right. Now imagine yourself as standing water.

‘I breathe in and see myself as calm water. I breathe out and reflect things as they really are. ”

When you have done three breaths, pick up the stone again with two fingers. You look at the stone and smile at it. Place this stone to your right.

Still water is beautiful. If the water does not move, it reflects things as they are without distorting them. We have no misconceptions and misunderstandings about what is in us and around us. That is why we learn how we can breathe in and out with attention. We can make ourselves quiet, we can calm ourselves. We can be like stagnant water within ourselves.

SPACE

Now pick up the fourth pebble on the left. Look at it: this is your inner SPACE. Place the stone in your left hand and place it on your right. Imagine that there is inner space in your heart.

‘I breathe in and see myself as space. I breathe in and I feel free. ”

When you have done three breaths, pick up the stone again with two fingers. You look at the stone and smile at it. Place this stone to your right.

Be like the moon traveling through the beautiful sky. He has a lot of space. We all want freedom and space inside. We have to touch the space in ourselves to feel free. Nobody is really happy without freedom.

The effect.

After moving these four pebbles with attention you may notice that you were aware for a moment. Regaining attention is not that difficult. It can help to carry the pebbles with you at all times or to place them in a place where you can occasionally be attentive. The pebble meditation is an attention exercise of which you determine the duration. It is attention to yourself.
